We Answered:

Actually, I think government subsidies should be shifted to alternative energy. While it is possible we might see some relief in the price of gas, I don't think it's ever going to go down very much. We really need to make the commitment to shift to more renewable energy sources - rather than just being a politically correct thing to say and do. In fact, I think the government should strongly encourage the oil companies to pour large amounts of their resources into the development of these alternative energy sources.

But I will exclude nuclear from that. I do think we need to be investing in more nuclear because I think it offers the most bang for the buck and modern technologies are much safer than in the past.

Regardless of what renewable energies we decide to pursue, we really need to make some decisions and start working on putting them into practical use today.
