Solar Energy San Francisco

Lori Said:

Is this the beginning of ANOTHER CHANCE?

We Answered:

Well, You are carrying on a strong conversation. That is a positive start. Eight years is a long time, and as they say "time heals all." It looks like you might have a shot again.

Good luck to the both of you.

Train from San Francisco to Tokyo?

We Answered:

Nice concept.. and technologically do able, but its a few years ahead of economically feasible.

So you build it.. what would fund its cost and operation. There is not that much passenger traffic daily AND you could not handle the volume of freight that is currently processed by container traffic.

(Plus you would have to detour for various islands along the way.. add more time)

Hold the thought.. in 10 or 15 years it might be doable and even necessary. If you build it you can come find me and give me a ride.

good luck .. and keep thinking outside the box.

Why did Barack Obama literally tell the San Francisco Chronicle that he will "Bankrupt the Coal Industry"?

We Answered:

That's his M.O. He is an idiot...Force will never create peace nor will it create prosperity of any kind. Besides, all these yuppies who are for the green revolution are ridiculous. Solar & wind will never generate enough power to sustain our modern lives...and true environmentalist life-styles are hard and basic. So far so that anyone who has spent time in a real eco-community running on 100% sustainable products can tell you...it's like camping only bigger. The compost toilets are enough to turn anyone away...Go buy another handbag made of Hemp Barry and tell yourself it matters...NOBAMA

Solar panels in the Bay Area?

We Answered:

Yes, San Francisco gets enough sunshine. That will vary depending on your site location, some are better than others. The best way to find out how much electricity your specific location can generate is to get a quote from a solar company.

I am in the process of getting PV's installed on my home in the Sacto area and got quotes from 3 companies. My home is in a good, not optimal possition and depending on where on the roof I place the panels my efficiency will vary. Also depending on the brand of panels, some will take less square footage on the roof to produce the same amount of electricity. The price on all 3 were very close to each other.

All 3 companies I dealt with gave a no cost/no obligation quote, and they were are very knowledgeable about the specific utility rebates I would be eligable for. I say it is well worth the time to check it out. My system should be going onto my roof in just a few more weeks. I was able to get nearly 50% of my cost refunded by my utitlity, plus my federal tax rebate. My system should be paid for in about 6 years.
