Solar Energy Rebate

Everett Said:

If I am not a greenie and I agree with Andrew Bolt can it still make sense to get solar energy for my house?

We Answered:

Wow, you guys in Australia are lucky! Payback period where I live is around 20 years.

For $2000, I think it's definitely worth it. You say it's going to take 7 years to pay off so I assume that it's generating about $250 of electricity a year. $250 is a 12.5% return on investment. When is the last time you had a financial investment with 12.5% return?

Even if you don't believe in global warming you probably at least understand the effects of coal generation on smog and other general unwanted pollution. Solar should help this, as well as saving you money. I'd go for it.

Emma Said:

Are there any tax credits or other incentives from the state of Alabama for energy efficiencies?

We Answered:

They have them for energy star appliances. Contact you local electricity provider. Sometimes they run out of funding thugh.
