Solar Energy Power Plants

Holly Said:

Describe the power plants using such energy resource.... (solar energy)?

We Answered:

Explain the question a little more. Do you want to know how they work?

Solar energy can be broken down in to two parts:
1- Using the light itself to produce power,
2- Using the thermal energy from the Sun as a heat source

Everett Said:

Coal burning power plants & energy sources?

We Answered:

The major differences between the plants are:

1. The fuel source. Coal for Coal plant, Sun for solar, water flow for hydro-dam, uranium pellets for nuclear etc.

2. Nuclear and Coal are non-renewable while all others that you have listed are renewable

The main similarities is that they all (except some Solar Energy applications) work alike:

1. The fuel source is used to create the steam or the gushing waster/wavy air
2. The steam/gushing water or wavy air spins the turbine which id connected to a generator
3. The turbine, in turn spins a magnetic ROTOR of the generator. As the magnetic ROTOR moves against the STATOR (copper wire coils usually), electricity is generated.

(note: Solar Tower is the only exception of solar application that works somehow similar to the other plants).
