There is no reason to go 100% off the grid, you can install systems that will offset part of your energy usage. I have a solar system that offsets about 75% of my electricity. I may add to it at a later date, but I got a system that maximized my rebates. I am also using a fraction of the energy that a typical home uses by implementing many energy conservation methods. Reduce standby energy with power strips, energy star appliances, maximize energy efficiency of my heating and cooling, using drapes instead of blinds, shade on the sunny side of the house etc.

We Answered:

Convert coal to liquid form and use engines that burn it for fuel. The problem with it is that it is the dirtiest way of getting energy. The good thing is the US is the Saudi Arabia of coal. Its dirt cheap.

No it is sunny when the Earth rotated so that you are in the path of the sun. When that condition is met there must be clear sky's.

Why not run for Mayor of Camden or Newark or Jersey City. They need a radical change.
