Solar Energy Manufacturer

Pedro Said:

Why dont car manufacturers do away with combustion and harness the power of solar energy?

We Answered:

First its the CHevy Volt.....Second its the Chrysler EV......Third bio-diesel is the only realistic way to go.......Forth would you rather pay $321 more to the electric company or would you rather dish out $2000 to an oil company.......

Johnnie Said:

Where is all the electricity going to come from to power all those new electric vehicles?

We Answered:

Did you know you are driving an electric car right now? It's true. Lots of electricity is used to refine gasoline.
*
If demand for gasoline falls, let's use that same electricity to charge our electric vehicles.
*
Did you know that lots of energy goes to waste overnight? It's true. Most large powerplants take too long to shut down and start up, so they run all night, even after demand for electricity stops.
*
Guess when most electric vehicles charge? In the evening and overnight, when demand for electricity is lowest.
*
Did you know that a small solar panel, big enough to charge an electric car, is really pretty affordable? Given the chance to reduce their car's fuel cost (and pollutants) all the way down to ZERO, do you think a few people might be willing to spend a thousand dollars or two to put solar panels on their garages?
*
Amazing how some problems just evaporate when you think about them.

99% C.I.= 500 +/- 2.575 (4.95)
99% C.I.= 500 +/- 12.75

Herbert Said:

How much of the U.K's current economy is currently taken up by "eco" friendly products and services?

We Answered:

I think it is currently about 1% - but definitely on the increase.

I can't give you any figures for solar panels but I do know a lot of people in my area have had them installed since the start of 2007.

I hope someone can provide you with a lot more information. I would be very interested to find out more.

Kristina Said:

What do you make of Areva (largest maker of nuclear reactors) buying Ausra (solar thermal manufacturer)?

We Answered:

Yes I saw this. I have had my eye on Siemens, they are diversifying like mad over last few years, and Areva have fingers in many pies too, they own energy companies here in U.K.

The turbines for our wind farm were made by Siemens two years ago. They took the order, then said they couldn't do it as they were booked up making stuff for the Americans, then a few months later said they could after all. I imagine with no real support from any governments, and no proper price set for carbon, the individual markets must fluctuate wildly, so it makes very much sense to diversify.
