Solar Energy In The Future

Claude Said:

Solar Energy In the Future?

We Answered:

It is beginning to happen already, according to the main feature in New Scientist magazine, published today. Link below will only give you the first couple of paragraphs so please pop to the local library or newsagent and read the whole article.

The reasons that solar power will influence climate change are that:
1) It will make electrical power virtually carbon-neutral
2) This will avoid Greenhouse Gas emissions from burning fossil fuels for electric power
3) Mankind's reduced output of GHGs will allow the earth's mean temperature to stabilise closer to current temperatures than if we carry on emitting ever-increasing numbers of Gigatonnes of CO2 every year.

Herman Said:

Is the world's future in Solar energy?

We Answered:

I think Solar Energy will be a part of the future since it is unlimited we will probably also have lunar energy, water energy, and wind power. All of those things.

Steve Said:

Should We Use/ Can We Use Solar Energy In The Future?

We Answered:

Oh yeah!
Solar has soooo much more potential than most people know about.
Many people think it's just the "solar cells" they see on calculators, walkway lights & such.
Concentrated solar energy by means of lenses and mirrors can flash water, freon or many other materials into steam.
The steam can be used to drive a piston or turbine engine.
The engine can pump water or generate electricity.
These "mirror farms" can be set up in remote places to produce electricity pollution free.
Solar collectors can be set up by individuals at home too.
Photo-voltaic cells make electricity.
Solar-driven heat pumps can help heat or cool a home.
There are many new applications and techniques under development today, energy costs being what they are.
Stay tuned !
