Nobody here has ever posted a site that proves oil is subsidized. They can find where it gets tax breaks which are extended to all business, but not 1 piece of fact on subsidizing. Oil companies receive grants and funding for research of clean energy or to help pay for plant modification under laws. Since all companies, including bread factories and dry cleaners got similar money back from the government, oil companies were not singled out and given subsidies.

Solar PV panels cost $8000 per kilowatt and will generate about 5 kilowatt-hours per day for that investment. 5 kw-hr is about $.60/day or about $300 per year in savings. This means at about the time the panel is paid for, you will have to buy a new one. Think about buying a house and the day you get it paid for, it falls apart and you can't live in it anymore.

So, the government gives you money. Where do they get the money, from your neighbors. Then, lets think about this. Only the rich can afford a $100,000 system, so the rich will buy them, and then all the poor and middle class will pay for them. BUT if the government taxes the rich to much, they won't be able to buy them.
