Solar Energy Companies In India

Jeanne Said:

Has America lost it's innovation edge?

We Answered:

Without dumping on Reagan personally, my take on this is that we reached a point in his administration where private wealth and public poverty became a virtue. At the same time the needs of the rapidly expanding multinational corporations were catered to and the needs of the American wage earner were ignored. Tax breaks for corporations led these corporations to use their wealth to invest in overseas production and used the American consumer as a dumping ground for that production. Worse, the Reagan administration and the GOP in general supported Big Oil and coal and ignored and even laughed at newly emerging power technologies like wind and solar. Right there we lost a generation of new technology, not to mention hundreds of thousands of good union jobs. The American public, urged on by right wing radio...a product of the Reagan administration, sold out their productive birthright for 'Everyday Low Prices'. We bought on credit, they sold for cash. We built up a massive, bloated WW2 type military, the Chinese invested our dollars in the future. We believed that 'communism' couldn't compete. We were wrong. Now we find ourselves broke and reliant on coal and oil to keep the lights on and the wheels on the road even as the cost of keeping the lights on rises beyond the means of many of our citizens and the roads and highways fall apart from neglect. Bill Clinton saw this clearly, as does Barack Obama. Clinton was brought down, Obama is fighting for his life and the working people of United States now stare permanent poverty in the face, sold out by the profit mongers that exported our future for a few dollars more. I still have high hopes for Barack, but my gut tells me that his administration is a last ditch stand, the Alamo of our national existence. We're broke, the Chinese are rich. Money talks and bull #$%^ walks. It didn't have to be this way. Lenin said that on the day that we hang the capitalists they'll be the ones who sell us the rope. Something to think about!
