For a science project, we used once a 2X2 feet cell to run a stereo, a bulb and a small computer, (no batteries). It must have been critical, since covering cell with one hand, or rising volume level too high, stopped the show.

Get a cheap solar powered calculator and put a lamp above it. Get knowledge on the type of solare panels in it. Keep putting sheets of paper in between the the lamp and the calculator. See how many it takes for the calculator not to turn on.

Yes it would. That way the school can focus less on energy bills and more on replacing those outdated textbooks. It wouldn't be much, but one little step at a time usually does the trick, right?
