How Solar Energy Is Generated

Ramon Said:

How is energy generated by non-conventional energy resources?

We Answered:

Non conventional energy is energy that is produced without burning any fossil fuel as suppose to conventional energy which generally is created by burning fossil fuel. Eg: petrol, gas, coal etc. Even when you burn wood or dead trees you actually end up burning fossil fuel. this results in two specific problems. 1) using up of available resources and 2)carbon emission.

Non conventional energy can be produced from many naturally prevailing resources which we can harness to our advantage at certain given conditions.

To list a few:
1) Solar energy- readily use-able for household electrification, cookers, boilers, street lighting, low horse power pumps etc. The condition is that there should be a good number of days in a year when there is clear sky.
2) Wind energy- used to turn turbines which in turn can produce electricity.
3) Sea waves- modern technology is being developed to produce energy from sea waves.
4) Algae- there are certain living organisms which under some conditions and chemical reactions produce energy.

Claire Said:

How Is Solar Energy Generate? (leave source)?

We Answered:

That is one badly put question! Solar energy is generated in the sun. It's what gives you a tan! I think you may perhaps want to know how it is collected and converted for our use for heating, lighting, etc. If that is what you are asking, there isn't room enough here to answer, even if I knew, or had to the time and inclination to answer.

Barbara Said:

how is solar energy generated?

We Answered:

The term solar refers to a star - like our sun. Nuclear fission reactions take place in the interior of most stars and this generates the solar energy. That enery has characteristics that we can see (visible radiation) as well as those we can't see (heat, UV radiation).
