Solar Power Panel

Bob Said:

I have a solar panel of power =70w , battery=12v?

We Answered:

Watts divided by Volts = Amps
5.833333 amps

Jared Said:

can a 6 volt solar panel power a 4 watt thing?

We Answered:

use this formula
watts/volts=amps
amps X volts = watts

So if your widgit uses 1 amp at 6 volts = 6 watts
Solar panel does not produce enough power.
I don't mess with solar enough to know about voltage the panels produce but the formula works for any voltage.

Julio Said:

Will any light (excluding sunlight) power a solar panel?

We Answered:

Absolutely. A photon is a photon; the solar panel can't tell whether it comes from the sun or from some other light source.

Walter Said:

What does 1 solar panel power?

We Answered:

Solar Panels have a large range of prices. You can get a 10W panel for approx. $100 to 200W solar panels at $2000 and beyond.

You would want to figure out how much electric heat you use. Then from there, figure out how many solar panels it would take to compensate that.

If you need help figuring this out, I would suggest reading a Solar Panel How to Guide and/or looking at a Solar Panel Forum.

Best of luck to you!
