The first solar powered calculators were introduced, the Royal Solar 1, Teal Photon Teal Photon , and Sharp EL-8028.

The short answer is Yes. Calculators dont take much energy and will almost always work with indoor light. Watches take more power. You would want to charge your watch in sunlight for a couple of days to get it fully charged, but after that, indoor light will help it to maintain its charge.
