If you burn that waste you are putting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas which contributes to Global Warming.

If you put that waste in a dry landfill where it will not break down you are sequestering carbon.

We need to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that is put into the atmosphere to less than one tenth of what is put into the atmosphere today.

I do not see how that will be possible.

We certainly do not want any more unnesessary carbon dioxide put into the atmosphere.

Solar energy is electricity, unless you are talking about sunlight itself. Solar panels simply convert sunlight to electricity.
Before electricity, all manmade light was made by burning something: wood, candles, coal gas and other gases, whale oil and other kinds of oil. That's still pretty much your only alternative to electricity.
