If you purchased the charger within the past year you should return it to the store and have it replaced or repaired free of charge. It would be more expensive to repair the charger on your own than it would be to replace it. On the comment of craftsman no longer making good tools that is opinion and I have seen almost every brand of cordless power tools with battery and charger problems. Also craftsman tools can be found to be half the price of other brands and just as reliable. A new charger will cost you $29.99 compared to dewalts $69.99
