It's a pointless experiment because as you've said the sun constantly moves and the mirror with the largest surface area will inevitably catch the most rays for the longest .

I'm no expert but i would assume that a shallow pyramid of mirrors all wired together would ensure the best exposure to the sun throughout the day and so a constant supply of energy ?
