A battery is more likely to die than a charger is. If your laptop works while plugged in, then the charger is fine and the battery is dead.One way to tell for sure would be to connect a meter to the output of the charger and see if it's putting out the correct voltage and current.

I'm not sure what you are asking. The batteries in your description would work fine as long as your controller takes actual AA batteries. There is a rechargeable battery pack made specifically for the wireless controllers and they have their own charger (you can't take the batteries out of these packs).http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OYM…
