Battery Charger Portable

What is the best marine battery charger (portable)?

We Answered:

C-Tek are good. Any high quality (i.e. brand name - not cheap Chinese) multi stage micro processor controlled charger of the right size for the job will be fine.

You get what you pay for with chargers or batteries. A $50 charger is not the same as a $300 unit, you will want the top end gear if you plan to maximise any battery's life, no matter the type or quality.

No charger of any sort can charge differing battery types at the same time, so gel batteries must be charged separately from wet lead acid or AGM type etc. The more expensive the charger the more features and capabilities will be available, also the more closely the charger can be set for precisely the requirements of the type and size of battery getting charged and thus the longest life and maximum charge potential can be realised.

My cheapest charger is about $130 - my batteries last at least five years in hard commercial service.
