The LM7806 has a rated output current of 1A and a max operating temperature of 125 Celcius.
It should handle 800 mA at 7V easily enough, but may get hot to the touch. Have you included a spike protection capacitor in your output stage design?

Charging that type of battery is a complicated process. Chargers use things like the internal temperature of the battery to determine state of charge.

In this case, I don't know what part of that electronics that control the charge are in the charger and how much is in the device itself. So replacing the charger with one not made for that unit, may work (if the electronics is in the unit) or may not (if the electronics are in the charger).

Given that, the differences between 800 mA and 890 mA is pretty small, so you should be OK.

Time to charge, theoretically, is 1050 mA-hour / 890 mA = 1.2 hours. In practice, it takes longer than that, as the charge rate has to taper off towards the end.

Bottom line: it may work fine with the other charger, or it may not, and damage your battery.

Check in baggage might be faster. Do make the compartment that they are in easily accessible for inspection. If the cords are tightly wound and next to some batteries it may appear on an X-ray as the profile of a bomb. The advantage of taking one of the chargers with carry on is that if your luggage gets lost you can still charge your phone. I usually take my AC adapter as carry on. That way if you get stranded waiting for a connecting flight it won't be with a dead phone.

Yeh you need to get one of those disposable chargers that they sell at petrol statons
