Solar Energy Systems

Chester Said:

why dont we all have solar energy?

We Answered:

I think any new technology to work in the market requires a push from the manufacturer. Presently global market is controlled by mighty industries who has enough money and resources to safeguard their businesses. This practically applies to all the segments. For an example, oil prices have been going up not because its not available - one of the main reason is that it's price is controlled by oil producing countries. They have oil strength to bring any country on their knees.
Similarly, it is possible that energy giants who has billions at stake, is not allowing any new technology that can threaten their existance, to enter in the market. Because they are controlling the market. How can giant company like Microsoft have been able to control huge market share in this competitive world. How they have been able to kill the competition. Similar rule applies to energy sector as well.

Other reason is that presently, this technology is still not commercially viable. Because it is too expensive for a common person. Why it is expensive, because they have not been able to mass produce it. Increase in sales can bring the cost down. To make it viable, they will have to initially incur heavy losses and they are not sure of the returns as mighty giants can play with the prices to retain customer loyalty.

What is required- Enough support to those solar system manufacturer so that they can withstand in their initial turbulant period. Support from consumer, government and all those people who wants to bring in a change. If you read more about change management, you will be able to find your answer.
