Solar Cells Electricity

Mary Said:

How solar cells generate electricity?

We Answered:

Solar (photovoltaic) cells use a semiconductor junction to allow photons to excite metallic atoms into giving off a flow of electrons. Solar radiation comes in the form of photons, and a flow of electrons is called an electric current.

For lots more information, including pictures and diagrams that will help you understand, run an internet search on "photovoltaic effect."

Douglas Said:

How the electricity produced by solar cells.?

We Answered:

when light falls on solar cell, photons in light interact with the silicon chips in solar cells and release an electron. electrons have negative charge. these electrons are attracted to another piece of metal called cathode. thuc negative charge moves to cathode or it can be said that a poaitive charge moves frm the cathode. thus the motion of positive charge is nothing but electricity.
