Review of Literature?

We Answered:

Try the library. If you have access to a college or someone who is in college, you could use the college's library search to find journal articles. I'm in grad school at UF in FL and I can download articles from almost any journal from home.

Could hydrogen combustion work well in a rotary engine?

We Answered:

Considering your head question only, The Wankel engine have offered attractive advantages in balance and high specific output. Unfortunately, this engine is dead as a result of its unfavorable combustion chamber and nothing can be done about it. Using different fuel such hydrogen, as you have suggested, would not alleviate the situation. We are still developing the silly cumbersome reciprocating engine.

Could hydrogen/oxygen combustion work in a rotary engine?

We Answered:

Hydrogen atoms are so small they can leak through solid steel.

A mid '70's issue of "Mother Earth News" showed how some guy ran his truck off hydrogen derived from wood I think. There is not enough energy in sunlight, even if 100% of the energy could be harvested, to run your vehicle without a much larger surface area than an rx7 has. Put a few solar panels on the roof and hood to power your radio and replace your alternator in general; that's as good as you're going to get.

Get some nuclear waste to make a nuclear battery on the other hand and you might have a reasonable chance at success.
