We Answered:

Everything is made of the same stuff, what people call energy. Everything living uses electricity, in some way or another. Every moving things produces electricity, in some level. Everything which has any mass has electro-magnetics. The main problem is tapping into this electricity.

Most people only a short while ago believed that trees were only good for burning and producing food, in terms of energy. Now they say they are good for producing raw sugar (Fruit: fructose) and cellulose which can be used to produce sugars, , which then can produce alcohol which can then be burned to produce electricity.

This is the same thinking which give you the immense (Energy intensive) pumping operation that brings fresh water to Southern California. They chose to go over mountains instead of through or under them. Or even using the a fraction of the terawatts required to bring the water down from the North, they could desalinize water locally.

To answer your question; there are people that say they have done so, I personally have not seen it happen, I believe it to be so based on what I asserted in this answer.
