Is anybody else excited about the future?

We Answered:

I think its pretty cool to! As much as I want to, I want things worlds like the Jetsons and Star Wars to be real just cause its cool. Like flying cars, and planes that can do vertical take off. But looking at how far its progressed to get to the point we are now, its gonna take a lot more time for "future" things to become a reality.

All those movies depicting the future at a certain time *cough cough* Back to the Future... show how our expectations are much greater than reality

buts its okay to dream!

Any commercial ideas for a mini sun?

We Answered:

Unique idea, I like it. =)
For the commercial, maybe in the beginning have someone trying to go about their day in the dark with no light, heat, electricity, or warmth, and their miserable. Then when they're walking down a street have someone how has a mini-sun following them walk past them, and seeing how bright, cheery, and warm they are. (they could be talking on the cellphone and have a bright personality wearing light clothing like shorts and a tank top, while the other person without the light could be wearing dark coloured sweaters and jackets and look like their in a bad mood)
The the announcer could say like, "Don't be left in the dark, with mini-sun (or whatever you want to name the product to be, then describe what the product can do.)

To have the effect of a mini sun, if you don't have any experience with computer generated images, the best things would be maybe a round light attached to a string with a box around it, or colour a Styrofoam ball with yellows and anything bright?
Good luck. =)

Can Y!A users provide the chronology for the word and earliest/developing/realised instances of the 'mirror'?

We Answered:

Your name implies you may know this:
2,000 years ago: 1Corinthians13:12: 'We look through a glass darkly'.
No doubt mirrors (polished metal) were in use long before this, and the archaelogists will say 4,500 years ago.
